Cords have been a staple in the country gentleman’s wardrobe ever since they first hit the fashion scene in the 18th Century. These days, refinements in cut and fit, and the fact that their shine and texture works wonderfully in a range of beautiful colours, means our soft yet durable cords are a hit not only with countrymen, but also with everyone from Italian fashionistas to Shoreditch hipsters. 

 

The Ellroy cord is made from a classic stretch cotton cord ‘8 wale’ fabric with a soft touch.  Available in classic fit in Camel, Cherry, Olive, Navy, Ginger and Black

Good quality material and tailoring, well made, accurate size. Colour slightly different than I was expecting (somewhat darker), but this is a problem with any internet purchase: the screen colour is seldom accurate. The trousers were a little narrow for my taste, as an elderly pensioner I prefer a baggier fit and have no interest at all in current fashion. They were advertised as "classic", not tailored, but to my sensibilities they feel narrow. However they were just loose enough to be sufficiently comfortable not to justify a return.

Nothing like the website picture, much darker and old mans’s thick cord not fine as illustrated. Would have returned, but courier/postage charges are buyer’s liability, unlike so many suppliers, so simply won’t by again from BT, feel cheated! Even the waistband clip was fitted so difficult to fasten.

Perfect fit. I like the fact that they do trouser lengths in half inches. I only wish that trouser manufacturers would go back to when trouser bottom were longer at the back so that they rested on the shoe at the front and covered the top of the heel at the back. With very smart trousers I always get my seamstress to alter the bottoms to this style.

I have just looked into ordering a couple of pairs of Ellroy cord trousers but read that these are not due until 2/7/18.
Is this correct - July seems a funny time to wear cord trousers?
